[🧀GMICE Hot Topic]: Attending the TPO General Assembly, Connecting with Global Tourism and MICE Cities!

In September 2025, Gyeonggi-do stood at the center of global cooperation. Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, together with Suwon Convention Center, participated in the 12th TPO General Assembly held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. With the theme of digital and eco-friendly transformation, this General Assembly served as a platform for networking among Asia-Pacific tourism and MICE cities, while also exploring opportunities for intercity cooperation. [🧀GMICE News ]: On-Site Evaluation of the Gyeonggi Region-Specific MICE Discovery and Development Project

Gyeonggi Province is carrying out a project to discover and support MICE events linked to local industries in its cities and counties, and to foster them into global events. For the events selected this year, expert pre-site consulting was conducted in the first half, and in September, the “2025 Gyeonggi Region-Specific MICE On-Site Evaluation” was launched in earnest for MICE events in Ansan, Seongnam, and Bucheon. Going beyond a simple evaluation, expert opinions focusing on implementation were shared, providing directions for post-site improvements. Gyeonggi Province is taking the lead in fostering a sustainable MICE industry that reflects the unique characteristics and industries of its various cities and counties. “Unique Venues” that embody the culture and identity of the region are now recognized as key assets of the Gyeonggi MICE industry. In 2025, Gyeonggi-do conducted growth index evaluations and on-site inspections of 17 Unique Venues that were first designated in 2021, strengthening their competitiveness. This marks the beginning of a strategy focused not just on spaces themselves, but on enhancing the capabilities of event attraction and operations. [🧀GMICE News ]: 2025 Gyeonggi MICE Academy, Successful Osaka Best Practice Tour!

To foster future leaders of the MICE industry, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization operated a global field experience program for the trainees of the Gyeonggi MICE Academy. Selected outstanding trainees visited the 2025 Osaka Expo and Unique Venues such as INTEX Osaka, where they gained first-hand experience of international trends in the MICE industry. This program, which connects practice with real-world experience, is recognized as a new model for cultivating young MICE talent.
