[🧀GMICE Hot Topics]: Efforts to Enhance Sustainability! Gyeonggi-do Develops Guidelines for Sustainable MICE

The MICE industry is seeing increasing demand for ESG management. In response, GMICE is actively taking steps to improve sustainability and align itself with evolving standards.

As you may already know, ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, which are non-financial criteria used to evaluate a company’s sustainability.

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has developed the “Gyeonggi-do Sustainable MICE Guidelines” to be practiced when hosting MICE events in Gyeonggi-do. This effort aims to build a sustainable foundation for the MICE industry. How about we learn more?

[🧀GMICE NEWS ①]: Five Regional MICE Development Projects Selected for Investment

Last April, Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization launched a call for proposals for the “2025 Gyeonggi Region-Specific MICE Development Project”, selecting five events from five cities as part of the initiative.

Three events were chosen for the ‘incubator’ stage, eligible for funding up to 55 million KRW, while two others made it to the ‘promising’ stage, with support up to 75 million KRW.

A consulting panel of experts will work closely with the selected events from the planning phase, offering guidance and strategic advice. Shall we find out which events were selected?

[🧀GMICE NEWS ②]: A Special Day for MICE Professionals! Gyeonggi MICE Day Event

On Wednesday, June 18th, Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization held the “2025 Gyeonggi MICE Day” for MICE industry workers and academic association organizers.

The event was held at “111CM”, a new unique venue in Suwon, making it even more meaningful. This year’s event was uniquely themed “MICE with Rest,” integrating wellness programs into the MICE experience. Shall we learn more about the event?

[GMICE Tips]: Spotlight on Future MICE Leaders 👀 – GMICE Academy Opens

The MICE industry is still relatively new to many young people. To address this, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization launched the GMICE Academy program to enhance understanding of the MICE industry and train specialized professionals.

The academy opened on Monday, June 23rd, offering an intensive five-day in-person training course through Friday, June 27th. After completing the program, participants will be connected with companies and internship opportunities. What topics are covered in the program?
