[GMICE Connected 2024 Vol.7] Gyeonggi-do: A Bold Leap onto the World Stage!

Dear G-MICE Subscribers,

 

As the season of cozy roasted sweet potatoes and the warm, steaming scent of buns fills convenience stores, it really feels like the year is flying by, doesn’t it? There’s a bit of nostalgia as we realize how quickly time is passing. It’s been a busy month here at the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization too, as we wrap up the year and start gearing up for what’s to come in the new year.

 

In today’s G-MICE update, we’ve packed in some exciting news from GTO, along with a sneak peek at the MICE trends that are bound to stand out in 2025. Enjoy!

At KME, the largest MICE Expo in Korea that draws the entire industry’s attention every year-end, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization had the honor of taking home an award! Ms. Choi Sook-hee, a manager at GTO, was presented with the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Individual (Merit) Award at the 22nd Korea MICE Awards. This recognition isn’t just a proud moment for her personally; it’s a joyful occasion for GTO as well.

 

Director Sook-hee Choi has been rocking the MICE industry for over 20 years! She started as a PCO and eventually joined the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, where she's been cooking up all sorts of fun and creative ways to spotlight Gyeonggi-do as a go-to MICE destination!

 

She has been pioneering various innovative initiatives like the “On-Site Gyeonggi MICE Talk” and “Gyeonggi MICE On-Tact Day.” Her efforts to bring fresh ideas and consistently promote ‘Gyeonggi-do’ to both domestic and international associations truly earned her this recognition.

 

Looking forward, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will continue to support events with the hope that more people will leave thinking, “Wow, I’m glad we held our event in Gyeonggi-do!” So, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any ideas or questions!
