Before we begin, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has an exciting announcement to share. At the 2025 Korea MICE Awards & Conference held in November, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization received the Korea Tourism Organization President’s Award in the Best Regional CVB category!

At the 23rd Korea MICE Awards & Conference, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization received the Korea Tourism Organization President's Award in the Best Regional CVB category for its contributions to promoting the MICE industry in 2025.

[GMICE Newsletter 2025 Vol. 01] A Special Day for MICE Professionals! Gyeonggi MICE Day Event
The 2025 Gyeonggi MICE Day was held on June 18, providing MICE participants with wellness lectures and hands-on experiences under the theme of “MICE with Relaxation.” The event was held at 111CM, a new unique venue. Along with wellness lectures, programs focusing on mental fitness, such as scent-based experience programs, drew considerable attention. The event also offered an opportunity to hold actual meetings through one-on-one business consultations and guidance on the MICE support systems.

[GMICE Newsletter 2025 Vol. 02] Unveiling the New Slogan for Gyeonggi-do MICE!
We considered many elements in developing a new slogan for Gyeonggi MICE that is friendly to everyone and embraces a global perspective. Among numerous slogan candidates, including “I’m in Gyeonggi” and “Gate to Greatness, Gyeonggi,” the final options were selected based on on-site votes cast by industry officials at the MICE Day event. Finally, “Fall in Gyeonggi” was chosen as the new slogan for the 2025 Gyeonggi MICE!

[GMICE Newsletter 2025 Vol. 03] 2025 International Comparative Literature Association’s Congress
From July 28 to August 1, the 24th ICLA Congress took place at KINTEX in Goyang. Under the main theme of comparative literature and technology, researchers from about 40 countries attended to discuss the future of literature in the digital era. Leading international scholars, including Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio and David Damrosch, shared diverse perspectives on literature and technology through keynote speeches and presentations. This congress provided a meaningful opportunity to elevate the global status of K-literature and contribute to enhancing Goyang’s cultural brand value and revitalizing the local economy.

[GMICE Newsletter 2025 Vol. 04] 2025 Goyang Destination Week a Resounding Success
In August, the 2025 Goyang Destination Week (GDW) was held successfully under the key themes of ESG, digital transition, and sustainable tourism, attracting experts from 38 countries. As an international meeting on destination marketing, the event served as a platform to strengthen the global MICE city brand of Goyang and offered various professional programs, including a youth idea contest, training sessions, and forums.

[GMICE Newsletter 2025 Vol. 05] Attending the TPO General Assembly, Connecting with Global Tourism and MICE Cities!
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization attended the 12th TPO General Assembly, held in September in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and strengthened its cooperative network with global tourism MICE cities. The assembly was a global event that attracted participants from 38 countries under the themes of digital and green transition, as well as sustainability. To secure hosting rights for the 2029 General Assembly, Gyeonggi-do focused on discussing strategies and strengthening working-level cooperation with member cities. The event provided an opportunity to build a foundation for future international MICE events.

[GMICE Newsletter 2025 Vol. 06] Special MICE Guests Visit Gyeonggi Province! Which part of Gyeonggi’s MICE attracted global industry professionals?
In September and October, leading MICE representatives from Europe and Asia visited Gyeonggi-do to experience convention centers and unique venues firsthand. During the event, discussions on practical cooperation took place, and Gyeonggi-do’s unique charm, embracing tradition, culture, and cutting-edge infrastructure, was highlighted. The event also served as a platform to showcase the competitiveness of Gyeonggi-do MICE infrastructure and to build a foundation for securing future international events.

[GMICE Newsletter 2025 Vol. 07] Gyeonggi-do’s Exclusive Booth at the 2025 KOREA MICE EXPO, the Largest MICE Festival in Korea!
At the 2025 Korea MICE Expo, held from November 3 to 5, Gyeonggi-do operated a single booth to actively promote its MICE infrastructure and unique venues under the concept of “Fall in Gyeonggi.” With 17 alliance institutions participating, Gyeonggi-do demonstrated the practical potential for securing MICE events together with domestic buyers. This event provided Gyeonggi-do with an opportunity to enhance its brand awareness as a global MICE hub and expand its network for future MICE attraction and cooperation.
