On November 25, the event began with participant registration and a luncheon for the award winners. The opening and congratulatory speeches conveyed a message encouraging a new direction for Korea’s MICE industry and continued efforts within the sector.

At the Korea MICE Awards Ceremony, the main part of the event, awards were presented to contributors who have led Korea’s MICE industry. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization was honored with the Best CVB in the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) category, which was newly established this year. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization was highly rated for its contribution to establishing the foundation for balanced development between -si and -gun, and for creating a sustainable MICE ecosystem through various efforts based on the Gyeonggi-style MICE policies. These efforts included discovering MICE specialized in regions of Gyeonggi-do, fostering specialists through academic programs, and providing administrative services supporting event acquisition and hosting, marketing, and training programs.

After the awards ceremony, a keynote speech was delivered under the theme of “How MICE is Changing in the AI Era,” presenting the direction the MICE industry should pursue in a rapidly changing environment. In the afternoon, two in-depth sessions took place.

Session 1: Achievements in Hosting 2025 APEC and Korea’s Future MICE Challenges

- Discussing solutions to boost Korea’s MICE competitiveness after the global event

Session 2: Successful Use Cases of Unique Venues and Future Development Challenges

- Introducing successful unique venue cases across various regions and sharing future development directions

Through expert presentations and panel discussions, participants shared field-related concerns and identified practical countermeasures.

After both sessions concluded, which included discussions and case presentations, Korea MICE’s Night, a networking banquet, was held in the evening. In a relaxed atmosphere, representatives in the MICE industry celebrated this year’s achievements, discussed new partnerships, and freely shared the on-site experiences and ideas they had gained.

On the second day, sectional meetings and a post-tour program—visiting Cheongnamdae Presidential Villa, a Korea unique venue—were held. It was a meaningful opportunity to experience unique venue resources on-site and to confirm the potential of region-based MICE resources for expansion.

The 2025 Korea MICE Awards & Conference served as a platform for MICE industry officials to celebrate each other’s achievements and explore strategies suited for a new era. The event also gathered public-private participants to anticipate the future of the MICE industry and played an important role in guiding Korea’s MICE industry toward greater growth.

The GMICE Newsletter will continue to bring you the latest trends and on-site coverage from the MICE industry!
