In November, under the blue sky of Barcelona, Spain, the IBTM World 2025 was held, bringing together MICE representatives from around the world.
Again this year, as a leading specialized MICE fair on the global stage, the event attracted strong interest from international participants. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization also gained a meaningful opportunity to showcase the appeal of Gyeonggi-do MICE and expand its global networks. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization installed and operated a Gyeonggi MICE promotional booth inside the Korea MICE promotion hall, together with the Korea Tourism Organization (including London and Paris Regional Offices) and 20 domestic MICE organizations, at IBTM World 2025—a large-scale global business platform and leading international MICE event that attracted about 12,000 participants from around the world and generated more than 130,000 consulting cases as of 2024.

During the event, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization’s promotional booth operated daily from 9 AM to 5:30 PM and was visited by a wide range of global buyers. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization provided detailed guidance on Gyeonggi MICE infrastructure and support systems and introduced Gyeonggi-do’s competitiveness in the global market through one-on-one business counseling sessions with domestic and international buyers and related organizations.
A total of 20 organizations participated in the Korea MICE promotion hall. As all MICE sectors—including RTOs, CVBs, DMCs, PCOs, convention centers, and hotels—joined together, buyers from various countries continuously visited the booth, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

On November 19, the Gyeonggi MICE promotion presentation was held at the PT zone within the Korea MICE promotion hall. Through this opportunity, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization introduced Gyeonggi-do’s leading MICE facilities, infrastructure, and support systems, showcasing the region’s appeal to European MICE officials. Although the presentation was brief, many foreign buyers seeking information expressed interest and listened attentively.
Along with the official fair programs, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization also attended various meetings to strengthen its network with participating organizations and Korean MICE representatives. The fair provided a valuable opportunity to share diverse on-site insights and the latest MICE trends in Europe while naturally engaging with global field professionals.

By participating in the 2025 IBTM World, Gyeonggi-do gained opportunities to meet foreign MICE buyers in person, expand its MICE network base, and enhance the brand awareness of Gyeonggi-do MICE. In addition, the event served as a platform to strengthen global networks with international organizations and to demonstrate how Gyeonggi-do has enhanced its competitiveness in the global MICE industry. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will continue to strengthen the Gyeonggi-do MICE industry’s foundation for global expansion by broadening international networks and sharing information.
